Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider with insurance companies. We will provide a "Superbill" if you choose to pursue reimbursement from your insurance company.

How do I verify my out-of-network insurance benefits?

Call the member services phone number listed on your health insurance card. Verify if you have an out-of-network deductible and out-patient speech therapy benefits. 

What forms of payment are accepted?

At this time, we accept cash, check, and debit/credit/FSA/HSA cards.

Do you provide in-home services?

Alma Language & Literacy provides in-home services when appropriate. We charge a travel fee of $50 minimum within a 10 mile radius of our office. Anything beyond 10 miles will be approved and charged on a case by case basis.

Do you provide teletherapy?

Alma Language & Literacy is primarily an in-person clinic. We reserve teletherapy for older children with childhood apraxia of speech who are participating in Rapid Syllable Transition Training (ReST). 

Is an evaluation required prior to services?

Yes, your child will need to participate in an initial assessment in order to develop a treatment plan.

How often will sessions take place?

The frequency and duration of weekly sessions is determined on an individual basis according to your child’s needs. 

What ages do you work with?

Alma Language & Literacy primarily works with children ages 3-10 years old.

Do you complete Independent Education Evaluations?

Yes, we provide speech-language and Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) independent evaluations. 

Do you provide special education advocacy?

Yes, we guide parents through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. We specialize in the special education rights of multilingual children and children with special needs attending dual immersion programs.
